best single malt scotch

There are several factors to consider when selecting the best single malt scotch whiskey. You must consider the type of whisky, where it is produced, and a variety of other factors. Here are a few examples.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan

The remote Scottish island of Islay produces Ardbeg Corryvreckan single malt whiskey. It's the latest in this distillery's line of NAS core offerings, and one of the most sought after. Despite the lengthy name, this whisky has a lot going for it.

This single malt is bottled at 57.1% alcohol by volume and is billed as the world's best single malt. While this is a fairly expensive drink in the United Kingdom, the quality is unparalleled.

There are some fantastic smoky elements. The back palate is exceptionally spicy. These characteristics emerge as the glass ages.

Oban Scotch Whisky

Oban single malt scotch whisky is a rich and complex malt with a smooth flavor profile. It has a smoky-malty dryness with a seaweedy aroma and medicinal undertones. Oak and cereal flavors are also present in this malt.

The rich sweetness of Oban is followed by a grain of salt and a hint of peat smoke. A delicate, spicy-dryness and a briney, orange-scented note balance these flavors. A long, dry finish with fruity undertones follows.

Hugh Stevenson founded Oban's distillery in 1794. J. Walter Higgin made significant improvements to it over time.

Speyside

A speyside single malt is more than meets the eye. There is a malt to suit every taste, from smoky to smooth. Some are more subtly disguised than others. Eilan Gillan, on the other hand, stands out. The company, which was founded in 2007, offers a wide range of fine single malts. This article will go over some of the brand's more interesting tipples.

The best of the best BenRiach is an indulgent treat. The smoky flavor will take your taste buds to new heights, aged in ex-bourbon casks for the first eight years, then finished in sherry casks for the remaining three. It's not cheap, but it's difficult to find a better single malt.

Distillery

The whiskey distillery is a privately owned distillery in Campbeltown. It's one of three active distilleries in the neighborhood. The Mitchell family owns and operates the distillery, which was founded in 1828. On-site, they have complete control over the manufacturing process.

80% of the barley used in the distillery is grown on-site. The malted barley is then pressed to produce a grist that contains 70% middles and 20% husks. This grist is then turned into whisky.

Springbank Distillery employs a one-of-a-kind two-and-a-half times distillation method. Springbank, unlike most other Scottish distilleries, does not chill-filter their whiskies.
